Here is the thing: I’d like to go there with my familly. I went twice in 2012 but now with the baby 1 and half year old, I would not take the train nor the bus, prefer eventually to be stuck in traffic jams in my car. Is there anyway to go there and park ? When I went to Shifen recently it was a nightmare to park even during the week… Any advices ?
They have traffic control so no you can’t take your own car.
No! Park at Muzha Zoo, or MRT to the Zoo where the buses start, or the rest area on Freeway 5 the first one coming from Taipei. Buses are many, 50 NT$. Not even taxis get through. It’s paying on the way up so you don’t need to pay twice. Get a standing place, shorter lines. It’s about 45 minutes on the bus.

You are probably right about the bus but I am worried about the half a million people on the return !
Its going to be pouring tomorrow evening. Is the event still on?
As I said take a standing place … there are two lines, one for seating and one for standing … coming back initially there will be one cue depending how busy it is, but closer to the stop it will split in two, standing and seating … take the standing line, and don’t wait until 9:00PM, go early, come back early.
