Hello, I am a beginner and I would like to know if anyone has come across any low-level type story books in Pinyin. I don’t have any intention to learn characters, but I would like to read text. I figure that reading will help to reinforce some grammar and maybe help learn some new words.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

There are books written for kindergarten kids in pinyin. Also lots of western picture storybooks are translated with characters and pinyin. Bo2Bei3 Xiao3 Xiong3 was a great series. Feisty little bear.
Although this isn’t for beginners and some of the usage isn’t consistent with contemporary Taiwan, you might find this of use: Humpty Dumpty in English and Mandarin (Hanyu Pinyin and Gwoyeu Romatzyh).
Thanks for the replies so far. In case anyone is interested, a friend directed me to www.chinesepod.com where they have transcripts of conversations, as well as the mp3. Interestingly, they also have a few fables on there.
