The house I live in had been empty for a number of years before we moved in, so over the past year we have been gradually getting the human residents to adapt their behavior to our presence. (getting people to stop parking in front of our door, getting the old goat across the street from pissing on the side of the house, etc.)
However, we are at the intersection of several dog territories and continue to be the recipients of unwanted and unflattering gifts. Bitch lady across the street simply lets her dog out her front door, and it prefers to crap on the road directly in front of our door. Ditto for the little white dog of her cretin friend who always hangs around to drink and gamble. Wu xiao bai, another little fluffy drop-kick-type dog who lives around the corner, goes pissing on the tires of our car whenever his owners let him out of sight.
My wife has muzzled me from verbally confronting these irresponsible owners any more, but is there a behavioral solution for the dogs that I might try?

The thing is… I actually like dogs… really!
A friend of mine maintains that “all small white dogs are crazy”. I tend to agree.
Xiao Bai is definitely not crazy, he’s just a little dog with a big attitude. The way he goes strutting around, you’d think he was a great Dane or something. I’m sure that he presumes most of the street to be his territory, so he spreads that pee around pretty good.
Try putting some vinegar in a spray bottle and hitting all the areas with it that they frequently do their thing. I’ve read bitter apple cider or ammonia will also do the trick.
Orange peels and Chili peppers for bushy areas.
Good luck.
Does this include the wheels and tires of the car? (I suppose it does)
Spray with water!..the Dog.
A good long wet blast from the hose…or a water bottle/ gun.
S/He/it’ll get the message. ![]()
PEACE…ya wet little pisser… ![]()

Back home, lots of people place bottles full of water around the perimeter of their properties, which I’ve been informed is to keep dogs from pissing or shitting on their lawn, but I’ve always been sceptical about the practice. I suspect it’s more old-wives tale than proven effective remedy.

While not everyone here agrees, I’m all for confronting inconsiderate assholes. If it were my front door, I’d pick up the shit and fling it at their front door. They’ll get the message soon and take appropriate measures to change their dog’s potty habits. And there isn’t a thing they can say in complaint. I mean, its against the law to leave your dog’s droppings anywhere. You’re just clearing the mess from your door. Where else would you put the crap? And what would they do if you deposited your shit at their front door?
Some people just need confronted sometimes. Just this morning I confronted an asshole in my lane. I was walking my boys when a stream of three cars, one truck and two scooters decided to use our lane as an expressway. I pulled my dogs over to the side and let the motorcade pass by us. As the last of the automobiles past us, I called my dogs to resume our walk home. Just as we got into the center of our lane, some asshole came barrelling in at top speed and then he fucking beeped his horn at us. I hate that, really. So, we stopped, turned around and told him to slow the fuck up and stop being an idiot. As he slowly passed us, I continued to berate him.
Fucking idiot. He needed to be confronted.

Spray the stupid owner.
You have
no idea
what pleasure it would bring me to spray Xiao Bai’s owners and everbody else who is taking liberties with the area around my door, but I’ve agreed to play it discreet and local.
As the name implies, Bitch lady is another case altogether. I’ve confronted her numerous times over her dogs, burning her prayer money on our side of the street instead of hers, late night noise, etc. Last time I confronted her over the dog issue, two of her cretin friends threatened me with bricks. That incident made everyone here pretty upset. The other neighbors don’t like her much either, so out of respect to my good friend and neighbor Mr Zhang, and to stay in good graces with everyone else, I’m keeping it local. Slowly the dog situation is getting better, but we’re talkin’ slooooowly. That’s why I’m looking for a behavioral approach to keeping the dogs away… it’s pretty much all that I’m left with, that and my rage. :fume:
Collect all turds and put them in the owner’s territory.
Give her a copy of the bylaws if necessary in chinese.

Honestly…spray with the hose on full blast every time the bugger comes around.
Doesn’t take long, they WILL stop…learn faster than the owners at any rate…
The owner has no reason to be miffed at you for taking measures to curb the situation.
You are not harming the animal at all.
