Hi,
This is most probably a really really stupid question, but here goes:
Is there any way a UK Playstation 2 can play vcd’s (or/and dvd’s) from Asia (Taiwan)?
Thanks alot for any help!

eh?
i didnt think they could play even regular vcds from the same region
VCDs do not have region codes, DVDs do however and thus your hardware may require a modification.
Else you need to consider the PAL/NTSC issue, not sure if the UK Playstation can handle both.
I’m not sure if you can get your hands on one here, but if you had a ( gameshark.com/ ) game shark you could play any region of DVD. Playstaion’s can’t play VCD’s. Your only other alternative is to have a MOD chip installed.
thanks alot for everyones answers.
The gameshark thingy sounds like the best bet for “any region” dvd’s.
On a related subject, I know that you can play vcd’s on laptops. So i thought I might do this, and link the laptop to the TV, and thus watching vcd’s that way.
However, an error message appears when I try to do this on my laptop - it says that a “driver” is missing.
Does anyone know which “driver” it is talking about?
