I’m not even sure where this post should go. But as I am working with rescued animals and as it is the reason for this story that I wanted to share it will go here.
Just before Christmas my skin started to itch. Around the same time my rescued dog Pearl got really bad and I had to put her down. Around this time because of her condition, and her 6 puppies, I had large amounts of washing.
I didn’t know it, but my laundry lady took offence and started to take action without telling me. I ended up with a fairly severe rash about 2 weeks ago around my neck where I’d been wearing a scarf, and severe itching all over my body which kept me awake at nights. The only reason could have been my washing.
I confronted the woman with my suspiscions and asked her what she added to my laundry. All she would say on the matter is that I should separate my dog stuff and my stuff, and how dirty I was. and how I should go and ask a doctor if she was right or not, and how I had the same thing as my now dead dog. She was rude ( asking me if my bottom itched and miming it out no less!) and never answered my question, even though I asked several times. She even took out an article of my washing from my linen basket, stamped on it and told me that the dogs do this so this should also be separated and that is how I can catch their diseases.
I have now had to re-wash every article of clothing I’ve worn since before Christmas and my skin is much better. Needless to say she will no longer be getting my custom.
