I have only very rarely eaten McChicken, but never really thought about food poisoning. Is McChicken food poisoning something that happens often, in Taiwan or elsewhere?
Well, my personally not mcchicken, but had a big diarrhea after burger king’s chicken burger here.
Some friends got it bad in HK after a mcchicken. Even at shake shack in HK, they served me a not fully cooked chicken burger.
Last chicken burger I had was at KFC. I assume that a chicken place knows how to properly handle chicken, and haven’t had food poisoning yet (knock on wood).
I really only get the egg tart at KFC, not a fan of their chicken here. But yeah, never had issues tbh
Can confirm they’re offering free fries for 5 star reviews. Before that they were at around 2.8 average. I’m sure they’ll find their footing.
For those discussing biscuits, the Popeyes biscuits are just as dry here as they are in the USA.
It’s true that Taiwanese people don’t yet comprehend biscuits, and especially don’t comprehend biscuits sandwiches such as chicken biscuit or bacon egg and cheese biscuit. Those items don’t fall into the two sandwich categories in Taiwan: hamburger, and breakfast shop sandwich.
On its own Taiwanese people often ask if it’s like a scone.
This has been our primary struggle at The 雞 Spot. When we do get Taiwanese in the door, they absolutely love the food, so it is suitable for Taiwanese palettes imo, we just need to establish the category. Another issue is they hear “fried chicken” and think greasy dark meat, not the brined juicy buttermilk chicken breast that we serve.
Incidentally if you’re craving actual American biscuits, north Carolina style, swing by! So far as we know we’re the only ones importing American flour for our biscuits. Taiwanese flour just doesn’t result in an authentic taste and texture.
Who is this “we”? Are you managing or working at the new POPEYES?
Guy
Assume it’s this place:
I actually read about it for the first time earlier (I think from a Reddit comment) and saved it for checking out.
Yup that’s us! I recently made a reddit post about the review thing and a friend told me that it was being discussed here as well.
I’m craving british biscuits. Do you serve any? A Chocolate hobnob chicken biscuit sandwich how about it?
Those ginger ones look nice! It makes me want to head over to a branch of Ikea to pick some up (I know they may not be exactly the same but good enough for me).
Guy
Mate ginger nuts are classic. I had a pack sent over from the old country™ and nobody liked them. ![]()
Precisely why reviews mean less than dog shit
I’ll take 1 @afterspivak review over 1 million google/whatever fake/paid for reviews.

Try 10am daily beat the crowd
NOT on Ubereats. Maybe management decision but seems like stupidity or negligence “hey do we want another avenue for sales and marketing? No!”
Amateurs
The kitchen currently is struggling to keep up with the massive lines, both to dine in and to take out.
Why would they choose to put Uber into the mix now?

Another management fail
I dunno man they do seem to be doing their best, with well trained staff engaging with customers (including me) and apologizing when things are taking time.
On Saturday evening they were handing out free biscuits to everyone in line to say sorry for the delays.
My only gripe with them is the complete reliance on the QR code system. Man Taiwanese love this so much but it’d be nice to have a smoother alternative for those of us who actually do want to pay cash.
Guy
Have you been there? You’re writing rather harshly. I wonder if you had a bad experience with the food, or if you’re simply displeased about not being able to get their food on Uber right now.
