Postal Service - Reliability

I’m expecting a very important document from the FBI. I called the FBI and confirmed it was mailed to me via US Air mail on October 30th with the correct address.

Well it is now November 15th…2 weeks and no sign of it showing up.

Just how reliable is the Taiwan postal system? How often do things get “lost” in the mail system here. I figured 1 week should be enough time to get something sent from Virginia. Was I wrong? What is the normal delivery speed for things from US to Taiwan?

Never had anything ‘lost’ from the UK here. Takes about 3 weeks. More if the Royal Mail arsewits send it to China or Thailand by mistake. Don’t worry yet.

9 days or so

you trust the fbi to tell you da truf? bwahahaha

In my experience things do go missing, I’ve lost a magazine that i subscribe to from the UK and bills from local electricity and gas companies.

There are to many variables to be able to blame any one organisation.

I’ve found the mail system here to be much more efficient than in Canada. If I have something mailed here, the delays usually happen before the package leaves Canada.

I sent my absentee voter application to the US by mail. Ten days later I received the ballot.

You’re up in Wanfang, right? I had a lot of mail go missing when I lived up there. Finally just started getting it sent to my work.

No problems so far, with either receiving or sending mail. In Malaysia however … (nah, I spare you that)

Ah Sh%*…

There goes my good week right down the toilet. :bluemad:

I guess I will give it until Friday…if it doesn’t show up then I need to start planning my departure from this island I call home. Damn.

why do u need to leave? i guess you need the “police report” from the FBI (a lot of mail for Taiwan does end up going to Thailand first if mailed from the US). SO YOU NEeed to make a HK trip? cuz of visa?

i think if you go and talk to the FAP. they are often good listeners? maybe they will work out something for ya?

I feel like throwing a party! The FBI report FINALLY showed up on Sunday of all days! Ended up it was in our neighbors mail box. They have had it for a few days and just now decided to bring it over to us…(supressing the urge to launch into verbal battery). I am just glad it is here FINALLY!

Time to go get my poop tested. Man I feel sorry for the poor bloke that has that sorry job!

sdee

Just be happy they did bring it over  I had a parcel go to the neighbours and they kept it for 1 month until I finally managed to track it down. No not their fault it was the postal and the security guard at the gate, but I could not understand why they didnt get in touch with me when it had my name and phone number on the parcel :expressionless: I find the postal service here very good, only lost 1 parcel out of thousands over the last 3 years or so, much more reliable than back home.
