Dear all,
I am trying to potty train my two year old son while we spend the summer in Taipei. Any suggestions on where to find a potty? Are there any baby superstores out there?
Best,
Jesse

Hi Jesse,
You might want to take a look at this thread over at parentpages (a wonderful resource site for parenting in Taiwan):

There are also a few threads over there on the subject of potty training in general, such as these:

There’s also a “Where can I find…” forum which might be helpful for tracking down other items you might need:

If Taipei is anything like Kaohsiung, you probably can’t go too far without running into a small baby store. Carrefour and the like will sell these things, too.
I potty trained our son using props from this website:
After 2 days, our son was almost fully trained with the occasional accident, usually due to him not wanting to interrupt his playing. After a week with reinforcements, his accident rate dropped to about 1-2x per week. You can try and buy the stuff separately, but the website sells everything as a potty training kit which we found to be quite convenient.
This is probably too late, but hopefully helpful to other parents who are going to be potty-training… we bought a little one piece plastic potty that can be sat or squatted (actually resembles the baby bjorn potty) on from Mothercare (in Sogo) for about NT$550 but I have definitely spotted different potties at other places!
