Anyone Taiwanese here successfully got PRC citizenship, PRC passport, PRC id card from the main land? Does anyone have any info for Taiwanese getting citizenship in the PRC?
I don’t think so, because it’s not necessary. Taiwanese citizens get a Taibaozheng and can work and live in the PRC like any other PRC citizen. I would imagine they would then be able to apply for the whole shebang, but I’m not sure.
Why the hell would a Taiwanese wanna gain PRC citizenship… ![]()
I bet it happens though… ![]()
to get a govt job, be with relatives, tired of renewing tai bao zhen, returning to ancestral homeland. there are lots of taiwanese living in the main land for over 20yrs.
You don’t need to apply for citizenship. You are already a citizen. What you need to do is register your Hu Kou in China. Then you begin the process of applying for a PRC ID card. Forget about going back to Taiwan though. Yes people have done it. Mainly oldies who want to die in the ancestral homeland.
Yeah, that’s kind of what I thought. Makes sense.
JUst old KMT soldiers who want to get back to the motherland.
Pity they didn’t all return to The Motherland in 1950. Would’ve saved us all a huge headache. ![]()
