Has anyone visited Macau recently? Does anyone know if I could get a prepaid SIM card to make calls back to Taipei and the US? How much do they cost and can foreigners get one?
I went to Macau a couple of months ago. Prepaid cards are cheap and readily available in Macau – if I remember correctly they cost roughly US$10.
If you are entering at the airport (as opposed to the ferry), you go out through customs, hang a left and pick up or exchange some cash at the bank. Further down next to the restrooms is a vending machine that sells the SIM cards. It’s hassle-free - no ID/passport required to activate.
