How do you, native English speakers find this speech?
In my humblish opinion:
- She was reading from cue cards or a teleprompter
- The speech was either translated or heavily revised by a native (likely bilingual) speaker
- Edits and cuts were utilized extensively to make the resulting video more fluent
- The reference to her foreign PhD dissertation was superfluous in every way possible
- The speech was designed to tiptoe around the major issue: independence
- What place does Taiwan have in the EU? Why even mention it?
- It’s drivel that nobody of any substance will ever hear.
