I’m wondering if anyone out there who accesses the internet from a Taiwan school on the .edu.tw network is having the following problem.
Since the beginning of the school year, access to US-based (it seems mostly) portals and sites has been very spotty. Webmail (Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc.) can be read, but more often than not, when a user tries to send mail, they are greeted with a “This document contains no data” error message in Firefox, and whtatever the equivalent is in IE.
It happens when trying to complete forms and post data. I’ve experienced it on many sites, large and small. The engineers at our campus claim it’s not a local (campus network) problem, and suggest that it’s a problem with the MOE network, which wouldn’t surprise me. I’m wondering, therefore, how widespread this experience is. I’m in central Taiwan. Anyone from other areas on the .edu.tw network having the same experience?
