YouTube contacted me and asked if I want to make a video promoting an animal charity here in Taiwan. There is a good chance they will put it on the front page of youtube which is more valuable than being on TV nowadays.
So now the question is which charity? A.T. or Sean’s new RSPCA? Or Bobepine’s Kaoshiung charity?
Why not figure out a way to incorporate all three? I’m sure it could be done, and all three are equally worthy, I’d have thought. There’s also that Save Dogs.org lot, too, down in Kaohsiung. I’ve heard complaints that some of these groups are reluctant to “share” with the other groups, too, so maybe your project could be a way to increase cooperation between the various groups? Just a thought.
I need to make the video myself and with my free time being limited I can’t travel to both Taipei and Kaohsiung. But I suppose I could contact the Save Dogs people and get them to make a “Hello M13…” video that I could insert into my own. And then I could insert links to all three organizations into the description. Good idea Sandman.
And to the rest of you…get a hobby.
I need a hobby, besides becoming a customs broker.
This needs cash, which could be well spent by me providing “security” for any and all fundraising activities.
Why don’t you go to the Dog Walk-a-thon tomorrow, October 4th at Taipei City Hall Plaza. I know AT is organizing it, but I’m sure there will be other charity groups with their dogs as well. I think it will be a great way to ‘advertise’ Taiwan’s animal charities.

Well I made the video. I personally think it’s “so-so” at best. But it’s getting rave reviews. Now let’s just hope YouTube likes it as much as my viewers and A.T. will find themselves on YouTube’s front page.

Yep, 3 minute time limit. My video is 3min 1sec…I hope that one second doesn’t disqualify me. What I ended up doing was making the video first…and then just narrating while watching it. Then I had to do a few edits…and in the end I guess I had an extra second.
Not as easy as you would think. Took me perhaps 3 hours of solid word to make that video. That’s an hour for each minute…motorcycle videos are much easier

Great effort Mordeth… Hopefully awareness can be increased and people will actually donate… Do you know when youtube are likely to feature this video?..
On Oct 24th we need to go here: youtube.com/user/YTVideoVolunteers and vote for my video to get it on the front page. I’m guessing I have more viewers than the other submitters. So I’ll make a video asking everyone to go vote.

My videos get roughly 50,000 views a day now. And I’m getting 500 new subscribers each week. So in the next month that’s 2000 new people I can introduce to A.T. alone.
Hopefully they can do something with that YouTube channel. Regular updates of different new dogs…showing their progression from mangy to cute. That kind of thing would “sell” very well. If they need any advice…or help…with video ideas or whatnot…just let me know.
