My husband and I just bought our first house in XinZhuang city, Taipei county. We know absolutely nothing about property taxes and today we received a form from the government regarding payment of land tax.
I have asked my friends and they told me there are 2 kinds of taxes: house and land. House tax is due every May. Land tax is due every November.
These friends also told me that I have to apply for a change from commercial to residential use with regards to land tax but they don’t know the precedures.
Question 1: How do I apply for this change? Where should I go? What docs should I bring?
Question 2: Should I also apply for this change with regards to the house?
