Protected word doc

does anyone know how to hack into a protected word doc. i have a spec sheet from a UK supplier i need to change a product code for; nothing dodgy just that we are selling to customer under an older product code so need to amend it. our scanner is buggered otherwise i would use that.

tks the bear :help:

have you tried “save as”?

I think that used to work for us

no tried that…still can’t get into the body of the text…no matter i’ll get england to do it for me

Tried opening and altering it using one of the OpenOffice variants (openoffice.org/)? Might be worth a try…

just google “word password” there is quite a few utilities capable of this

How about copy and pasting the contents of the Document onto a new one and giving ti the same name as the old one…?

This way you can change whatever you have to change in the new one.

no the doc is copy protected that means you can’t mark it up to copy… or to be more accurate you can paste it into a new doc but you still can’t get into the body of the script

crude solution: make a screen shot, paste as an image and edit the new prod.-number into it. Quality will probably suffer, but it’s a quick fix … Xpet.

Try copy and pasting the peice before the part that you want to change then add the change and then the part after it…in peices sotospeak
