Question for Tempo Gain...Locking threads

So we had a good discussion going in my anti-Microaggression thread and then you locked it because Touduke trolled it with his butthurt feelings in a post?

Not sure why you did that (unless you wanted to reward his spamming)? Seems to me you have a real history of jumping the gun whenever I am involved, is there are reason for this?

This is a PM kind of question.

This is in the ‘Feedback Forum’

Yes, but your question is of a personal nature.

No, it is related to the modding of this forum.

I don’t know, but I get put off when threads turn into discussions about human excrement. I hate toilet humour - it has a disgusting ring to it.

you were funnier when ‘no one understood your sense of humor’.

As a general thing, locking usually happens when the mod needs to clean up/split or otherwise deal with a thread that is growing rapidly or which has gone way off topic – anything where there is more than a quick fix involved. Since (shock upon shock) we are all human beings with real lives off these boards, locking is sometimes used to keep things from getting worse until we have a chance to do the job.

I can’t speak to the particular thread/case you’re talking about, but that’s usually the deal with locking. It is not punitive nor even a warning – it just suspends things for awhile.

I got tired of moderating it repeatedly yesterday, and it does duplicate the other thread. Anyway I cleaned it up a bit and reopened it.

Well, there is that.
But joking aside, I am actually pretty serious. I hate to visualise other posters dropping the kids off at the pool, which inevitably happens when a shit flinging discussion enters a thread. It’s just a bit too crude for me.
