Racist with "Obama" doll at Palin rally

I think that the Brady effect is going to come into play, and I for one would prefer for Barack to increase his lead a fair bit more.

One would assume that McCain/Palin have well and truly used their quota of screwups, however one can only hope.

30 seconds of listening to Palin should make most thinking people vote for Barack, IMHO.

Whoa! The Brady effect is getting shot, innit?

Mob mentality in support of McCain/Palin and in opposition to Obama – the terrorist, socialist, commie. . . and the one thing they don’t dare say, the n%gg#r.

Do you think a large percentage of the people in that video are shocked and dismayed that America is about to elect a BLACK MAN as President, to represent our nation? Of course that’s how they feel. A N%GG#R FOR PRESIDENT! How the Hell could people vote for a N&GG#R?

You bet that’s what they’re thinking, though – like our friend with the monkey doll – they know to admit they feel that way will subject them to ridicule and scorn, so they don’t dare confess it. But secretely in their hearts, and in the privacy of the voting booth, that’s how they feel and many will reject Obama for that reason alone.

There have been articles lately about how pre-election polls tend to be inaccurate when one candidate is black, with the black candidate faring worse in the election than predicted by the polls, because voters are reluctant to admit they won’t vote for hte black candidate. i fully believe that. For that reason I think it’s not enough for Obama to be ahead by 6 or 7 or 10 points, as he is now. I believe he needs a good 20 point lead going in to the election to overcome all the closet racists who say one thing but in the end won’t vote for a black candidate. Sad but true.
Is that how you are feeling? Just a question, not an indictment or judgment.
I’m not sure what you mean by the question.

NO. Do I feel a person should be judged by the color of his skin, not by the content of his character? Of course not. Do I feel that the color of a person’s skin should make any difference regarding fitness to serve in public office? Of course not. Do I feel any trepidation about voting for Obama because he’s black? Absolutely not. I will vote for Obama (by the absentee ballot that’s sitting on my desk at home) with 100% confidence and no reservations whatsoever. His race is irrelevant.

YES. But, do I feel that many people would never vote for Obama because he’s black? You bet, and I would expect you feel the same way. America has come a long, long way in breaking down racial barriers. Heck, when Obama was born he would have had to sit on the back of the bus and drink from a separate drinking fountain. Just over a hundred years earlier he would have been toiling on a plantation. Now he’s about to be elected President. That’s fantastic. We’ve come a long way baby. But, racism is obviously still very much alive in America and the rest of the world. Do I believe a black candidate for President has an especially daunting challenge not just proving he is qualified but overcoming the additional hurdle of racism, both overt and hidden? Yes I do. Do I believe that in addition to that hurdle of overcoming widespread racism (and the ordinary non-race-related challenges) to get elected, Obama also faces a very real (and incredibly sad) threat of being gunned down by some lunatic racist who can’t stand the idea of his nation being represented by a black man? Yes, I’m afraid I believe that too. Of course I pray that common sense will prevail, but I do believe there are lots of loonies and lots of racists in the world, and many decisions are made based on hatred and prejudice, whether the people making the decisions are aware of it or not.

I guess this guy sums it up pretty clear, not because he is for Obama, but quite clear standing against the race issue.

This is so sad and sick, but very true I think. And people ask me why I don’t want to live in the US anymore…I can’t stand the mentality, personally. And the fact that the mentality come from my people, if you know what I mean, makes it a thousand times worse than dealing with any kind of similar ignorance overseas.

A couple of old high school friends that I have recently gotten back in touch with through Facebook have posted nasty racist pics referring to Obama too, like the poster above talked about. I deleted them as friends on Facebook. I don’t deal with stupidity very well.

Bradley…not Brady.

The Brady Effect is the involuntary morphing of otherwise unconnected normal people into family groups of platform-wearing 1970’s TV people.

Aiyo! It’s bad enough the yanks don’t know their history, but et tu, Broon?

Brady, shot by Hinkley, who also shot Reagan. The Brady Bill on handguns . . . no blonde brats to be seen!

HG

Are these the kind of people who funded terrorism via Noraid?

If Bush is so against terrorism why hasn’t he banned it yet? Or is he only against terrorism against Americans?

Dude…I was pretending to be a yank…maaaan. I realise that The Brady Bill lets yanks buy guns and shoot people after they spell their name correctly at the checkout.

 Uhh… most Muslims oppose abortion, if that what he erroneously means by “baby-murdering”.

He shouldn’t have to worry. There are no baby-murderers or Muslims running for president.ou

Oh, then…just imagine if he had replaced the word “Muslims” with “Jews”, and you see the kind of religious bigotry we’re dealing with here.

This is true of any US administration; didn’t you know that every Yank life is worth at least three or four non-American lives? Don’t you know that double-standards and hypocrisy are UNKNOWN in The Land of the Free?

Yeah, it’s terrible that some McCain supporters are calling Obama names. Is racism really any worse than sexism. Both sides have a large number of ignorant supporters.

Obama’s been running that attack ad about how Sarah Palin pals around with unrepentant cunts. It’s just a dirty campaign.

Sexist? One of those shirt wearers is a woman…

Not that I support such boneheaded tactics by supporters on our side. But at lest such attitudes aren;t fomented by Obama’s campaign leadership.

I can’t say that I have seen the McCain campaign calling for racist protests either. As I said, there are ignorant supporters on both sides.

I haven’t heard Obama supporters shout “cunt” at rallies either.

Other than, say, Palin saying that Obama pals around with terrorists? In the minds of these unedumacated, Fox News-watching lowlifes, “Terrorists” = “Ayrabs” = “brown people”.

So, Ayers wasn’t a terrorist? Obama didn’t attend parties at his house? It seems to me that those are pretty accurate descriptions. They may not be relevant, but they do seem to be pretty accurate.

Ayers was a terrorist when Obama was eight years old.

Obama has publicly denounced the actions of Ayers and the Weathermen back in the 1960s.

Obama lived in the same Chicago neighborhood as Ayers, and yes, Obama, as well as many other people including Republicans, had coffee at the house of a long-reformed Ayers, decades after the Weatherman activities, in connection with the Annenberg Project (i.e. Walter Anneberg, friend of Ronald Reagan). He didn’t “pal around” with Ayers; they just happened to be members of the same committee.

Did Ronald Reagan “hang around with terrorists” because of the same tenuous association to Ayers?

Palin simply stated and repeated that Obama palled around with terrorists. In the minds of the knuckledragging racists, this sounds as if he hung around with al-Qaeda and as a result is, like them, an Islamic brown person…something to be feared if you have a small mind.
