The last battle for Japan occurred on Okinawa. After what the US encountered there, they decided the only way to take Japan was by going nuclear. This file is rare footage of the taking of Okinawa. Be warned, though it is very compelling, it is not for the faint of heart.

It’s hard to know what the purpose of that film was. If it were Vietnam footage it would be the type that would bring the war to a grinding halt, but it looks like a government made propaganda film. I can only think that it was made to justify the nuclear attacks.
