Rare Ice Cream Finds

Where did you buy this in Taipei?

Their snickers ice creams are amazing. 10/10. I’ve only seen them once though. I hope they keep pushing them, Taiwanese need to know about the marvels of snickers ice cream bars.

I believe they’re not currently in Taiwan.

I’m in Bohol on vacation. 7/11 in Philippines carries Rocky Road ice creams.

Refreshing to see “added 10% milk fat” as a marketing on the lid. In these days one usually see marketing about 0 calories or 0 fat etc. so definitely refreshing to see the added milk fat for taste :+1:

It’s been stupidly hot and sticky in the capital lately.

In this situation, I came across Family Mart’s current soft serve ice cream offering: sea salt lemon. I generally detest their faux fruit flavours, but this one works. It’s like a nice refreshing sorbet on a hot summer day.

Not rare but I didn’t want to start a new thread. Buy 1 get 1 free until tomorrow, 8/25. Decent enough cookies and cream flavor.

When I see photos like this I have a brief moment of excitement–“Yes, mint chocolate!”–only to be disappointed yet again when I read the package carefully

I saw these about an hour ago in the PX Mart near the Zhongzheng and Sanmin intersection in Xindian. :yum:

At least in this particular case it’s matcha rather than mung bean or something.

I can accept matcha.

I won’t be making the mistake of assuming that pink ice cream means strawberry or raspberry again though. Once was enough — salty red bean flavor doesn’t really work for me in an ice cream. :face_vomiting:

Family Mart’s ice cream offerings have been hit-and-miss lately, with a few passable flavours crashing into other faux fruit fiascos.

Presently they are serving coffee ice cream featuring UCC’s signature 117 Blend. In my humble opinion, this is a good one: smooth, round, and satisfying. Cost: NT$49 for a cup or a cone.

I noticed that Family Mart also has for sale some extremely expensive Kona beans from Hawaii—although that, properly, should be for the coffee thread, if anyone has enough cash to go for it. :money_mouth_face:

The two tea flavors were horrible. And the taro was pretty bad too. Things are looking up now. Can’t go wrong with coffee and chocolate.

Nah the tea flavours can be great if they do it right. You can actually go wrong with chocolate in Taiwan as you know .
Best one is Tien Rens macha tie guanyin ice cream though.
I realise many won’t agree with me but they have very interesting locally made ice creams in the stores now.
If somebody knows where to get good Thai ice cream , you know with the tropical fruit flavours, let me know.

Did you try the recent Family Mart tea flavors? They tasted like perfume. Just really really bad.

I didn’t , they used to do it right but I guess they are going cheap now. I did have a sesame one a while back and it wasn’t great .

What d y’all think of IMEI?

Surprised you guys are missing a lot of other options here
They have a bunch of different sundaes now with the frozen strawberries etc.
I guess it ain’t rare though so you got me on that.

I like their basic flavors, but haven’t been impressed by the sundaes. Just tried the strawberry one.
