Not a fan of IMEI fake flavors just not my thing
Well the dehydrated strawberries are the real deal.
Which reminds me I always tell my kids sometimes you canât beat ice cream with e numbers (itâs a European thing look it up) the tastes of my childhood lol.
As many of us know, winters in Taiwan can be a trying time for ice cream enthusiasts. Clearly insane supermarket managers remove ice cream stock and fill those spots in the freezers with tang yuan and other inadequate substitutes.
Thankfully shops such as Family Mart do not back down, and while I cannot say that their house brand ice cream bars are ârareâ I can say that their sea salt caramel concoction (pictured below) is exceptionalâmaybe too good for my own good. Youâve been warned!

Yeah, theyâre good. I didnât know ç§ĺ ´ç´é was a Family Mart brand until I read your post.
I donât have inside knowledge, but it does appear to be their house brand. Corrections are welcome!

Took me ages to find that one in a store. I had to dig to the bottom of the freezer to find it.
I hope it lived up to your expectations!
Iâm also having trouble tracking those bars down now, after my fateful post . . . ![]()

I mightâve eaten the last one in taipei. Apparently you can order direct but FM canât find stock to order for me!
those are seriously good. I saw them again this year already. Not sure on pricing/flavor.
So, I saw this Pols ice cream bar, something with caramel, grab one and take it to the counter. Clerk cannot scan it, then tells me they are not supposed to be on sale yet.
All rightie then, I leave it on the counter, go back to the fridge, grab a strawberry flavor made in Japan bar, and when I get to the counter, there is a pile of like a dozen Pols caramel bars and the clerks are all nervously scanning and scowling. ![]()
Anyways, that was over a week ago, no sign of the tempting caramel Pols. MysteryâŚ
I always tell them if it canât scan, then itâs free.
Hasnât worked yet though.
Well, many years later, it looks like the 7-11s with a Coldstone stand (?) currently have a mint-chocolate-chip limited-time offer. Some kind of discount if you buy two, I think.
Iâve never actually ordered from those 7-11 Coldstones. Anyone know if theyâre any good?
A post was merged into an existing topic: Food Scandals, Safety, Recalls
After a long hot day, I felt like having some ice cream tonight. Looking around one of my local 7-11s, I noticed an interesting-looking option offered on their soft-serve machine: chocolate mocha produced collaboratively by ice cream chain Cold Stone and Taichung-based coffee roasters HWC Coffee.
I have no idea how widely this product has been rolled out across the 7-11 empire; I also have no idea how long it will stick around. I found it tonight and I suppose thatâs what counts. A cone with this magic collaborative combination cost NT$59. I loved it!

I was happy to read this, yet also sad, because my first reaction on seeing the thread pop up was âEkselence is back?!?!?!?!â Alas, no.
Iâve never tried their soft serve. That may change.
All that awesome ice cream from the Baltic states . . . seems long gone, sadly. I didnât spot any of that stuff in the entire summer. Maybe itâs somewhere, but it eluded my lines of sight.
Guy
I came across some really nice salt caramel ice cream at Baires in Tienmu last month. So good I forgot to take a picture.
If Ekselence is back, it goes into the Ekselence thread.
