The first “real” athlete? You mean the WWE is fixed? Just a show? But it looks SO REAL! 
What amazes me is when you see it on TV and there are actually adults in the audience :shock:. I guess there were no giant truck rallies on that day. 
America at its finest.
Although I remember Saturday afternoon wrestling on the telly when I was a kid – anyone remember Mick McManus? Big Daddy? Giant Haystacks? – and always seeing the audience filled with old ladies in their Sunday best.

People, wresting is ENTERTAINMENT. Fun to watch, and enjoyable. I’m not interested in getting into an argument about whether it’s “real” or not; characters in novels and movies aren’t “real” either.
So anyway, anyone here into wrestling? I’d like to keep this wrestling thread going.

My old man used to lift weights with this guy years ago on the North Side of Pittsburgh:

I think Bruno was one of the first people able to bench press 500 lbs. My old man is 70 years old now and he still benches 320 lbs with an open grip… he can still kick my ass 
We used to run into Bruno on the North Side back in the early 1990s before we returned to Taiwan.
WHAT?!!! This guy is killin’ me. My whole world is coming crashing around my head! What next? Are you gonna tell me that the Tooth Fairy isn’t real? I hope not.
Do you have to chew tobacco and say “ain’t” and things like, “If I’d a know’d you’d a want to went, I’da came ta got ya,” and “I know’d he was there cause I seen him.”
The choreography is good in these shows but the acting is so terrible that it is painful to watch.
Even then, it doesn’t even come close to Japanese women wrestlers. I could watch that for hours.
This is wrong.
I was flipping through the channels one night, and had to choose between an episode of ‘Friends’, a Keanu Reeves movie or ‘Smackdown!’. I chose the one with better acting.

Unfortunately, both Brock and Goldberg have left the WWE. WrestlemaniaXX was a disappointment too. When I am able to watch it, I much prefer NWA: TNA to RAW and Smackdown!. NWA is trying to recapture the ECW days, and I for one welcome it.
