My aunt booked a train/hotel package to Hualian earlier this month for myself and my boy while we were in Taiwan. The cost (about $NT3600 for 2 people… dirt cheap IMO) included return tickets on the train from Taipei to Hualian and one nights stay at the hotel.
Was very impressed with the hotel… the service was excellent and the rooms were gorgeous. Huge room, brand new everything, gorgeous view of the mountains, king size bed, HDTV plus a spacious bathroom with separate shower and bath.
If you’re looking for a nice quiet luxurious weekend away, I would recommend booking one of these packages.
My only complaints about that trip would be that Hualian isn’t the most interesting city to visit… and the room service food kinda sucked.
