I am organizing my school’s summer camp this year which will include a 3-day trip away from Taipei. I was wondering if anyone has recommendations/comments about a venue that they have been to for such an outing. It has to a somewhere where the kids can have some outdoor fun and it needs to be educational, too.
Last year we went to Tou Chen Leisure Farm (http://www.tcfarm.com.tw) which was generally quite good and enjoyed by everyone … so something like that, but hopefully better!
Jinshan Resort is excellent. (金山鄉). It’s about 1 hour N/E of Taipei.
They specialize in groups of kids and offer things like:
Organized campfires
Indoor adventure swimming pool
Hot tubs
Camping / rooms / dormitory
Paintball
BBQ
Loads of room to run around
Beach with lifeguard
Classrooms if you need them
Cheap breakfast / lunch /dinner.
Close to Yeliou’s dolphin park and aquarium.
And the best thing is that if any kids get sick or homesick their parents can come and get them as it’s close to Taipei.
It’s also a great place to go for a bit of adult R&R
Thanks … I think I’ll definitely look into that one. I forgot to say about the place I mentioned in the original post that it could also be quite fun for families to go to. Similar packages to the tours and the accomodation/food is bearable to quite good, depending on your tastes.
