All right, let’s see the skeletons in your closet, strut your guilty pleasures for all to see! Or just show us what a boring person you really are.

Maoman, I think you’ve forgotten to include www.canadianbabesinthongs.com

I’m still looking for the www.taiwanbabesinthongs.com site.

I bookmarked this

glenlachart.co.uk

and after reading reading that “Tigerman” novel, I like a wee bit o’ this:

my favourites:

I know this has been done before, but I’m too lazy to search through to find it. Here are a few cool links I have discovered.

Earliest Voices:
A multimedia site presenting some of the most significant voices captured during the first fifty years of sound recording, 1877-1927, including William Jennings Bryan, Thomas Edison, William McKinley, Booker T. Washington, and others.
historicalvoices.org/earliest_voices/

Hammurabi’s Code of Laws:
The world’s oldest legal code (circa 1780 B.C.) and incidentally the source of "eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth.

I like:

forteantimes.com/

I am always interested in checking about new and interesting websites. thought this thread might be a good way to share ideas. Please put down any you recommend and its topic/genre
maybe news, science, humour, pictures, etc.
e.g.

www.oddtodd.com Humour: Flash cartoons about a laid-off guy (MCI)

Great idea. In my ‘lacklustre links’ thread in feedback and announcements (http://forumosa.com/3/viewtopic.php?t=12765) I suggested we have a ‘on the web’ forum where people could post their fave links or just stuff they’ve come across that they think is cool, weird, outrageous etc.
There are a lot of funky links spread about this forum that I think could be collected in one place for people to browse if interested.

My first contribution is http://www.johntitor.com about a man who claimed to be from the future and who particpated in forum discussions on the subject. Even if you think the man belongs in a padded cell, it makes for entertaining and sometimes thought-provoking reading.

Your local band…
http://www.eyeenvision.com/litterbox/scratch.html

Tortured soul…
http://www.joecartoon.com/pages/socket/

this site needs Quicktime, but its really worth it. Link goes to a 360-degree zoomable panorama from the summit of Everest, but there are dozens and dozens of cool panorams from all over the world.
More sedate, but still great: www.aldaily.com

Goddamn you Alleycat! When am I going to find time for work now? Some really fantastic links on that site.

Yes, oftentimes I print out loads for bedtime reading, which as you can imagine is not a good place to read such thought-provoking stuff.

As a journalist, if Dennis Dutton chooses to link you article, you can consider yourself “made.”

Beyond essential:

ratemypoo.com

Okay, but seriously:

The Straight Dope - answers those nagging questions such as why toilets flush counterclockwise down under.

Sluggy Freelance - A nifty online comic. If you really want to waste some serious hours, start at the beginning. It’s a convoluted narrative with loads of plot twists and turns.

The Leftersons - Possibly the unfunniest, least insightful political comic strip on the web. The Right’s answer to Doonesbury, this is so bad that it holds a morbid train-wreck appeal.

Get Your War On - After reading the Leftersons, take this as an antidote. Violently anti-Bush comic strip. Hilarious stuff.

Perfect Sound Forever - my favorite online music mag. While you’re reading that, plug into your favorite of hundreds of amateur radio stations at Live 365 (and if you think they all suck, you can set up your own station with your own records at the site, then).

And finally, Flame Warriors - which kind are you?

Some of you guys might appreciate this site: taiwan-photo.com/board1/10.htm

But you’d better not browse there while you’re at the office or when the wife is around.

philosophyquotes.net/cgi-bin/god_game1.cgi
Take this ‘test’ to see how consistent your philosophical point of view is toward God, atheism etc. I managed to get a silver award at the end. I tripped up near the end and the program pointed out my inconsistency according to my previous responses. Good to kill ten mins or so.

See the ‘inner’ Britney. Click on the pics and move your mouse. 2 min interest level, tops.

See how long you can hold the button. You have to be really really really bored to enjoy this one!

Some of you may not have heard of http://www.fark.com which collects links to weird and wacky news stories from round the world. Good to check in for a giggle once in a while.
