Bit of a Rant!
Sensao, refused to transfer my large sim card, to a small sim card for the Iphone 4s. Telling me that foreigners are not allowed. My wife bought a 4s in her name for my B day, but alas…no luck for me!
Any idea where to go to switch the sim card?

I’m a bit confused about what you are seeking. You are seeking to change sim cards? Are there different sizes for them (I was only aware of one)? Are you trying to open an account of your own? You say the phone is in your wife’s name. I’m assuming there’s a service contract that comes along with it. If so, send your wife to deal with whatever it is you are trying to do. She’s the account holder anyway, and you can bypass whatever discrimination you are sensing.
Cut your Sim card yourself … easy and quick … you can find the instructions on the internet … done it for my wife’s iPhone 4 …
So there really are different sizes for iphones? More Apple conspiracy. 
Well, yeah, guess OP could cut it… or just send the wife to switch the sim.
You can always tell them you lost your Sim card in the trash or something and you need a new one … a micro Sim …
Mere speculation, but I’d say his main issue is that he isn’t the account holder.
I think the issue is that they think you wanted a new account. When you were asking for a new sim, make it clear that you don’t want a new 門號 menhao - you just want the mini sim card for the menhao that you have.
Even if you think you made that clear, some people hear words like ‘new sim’ and then block out any other information because that MUST be what you’re talking about.
If you’re Chinese is really good and you know all the right terms, then I have no clue :s Sorry.

Perhaps, but even in the latter case, he would be S.O.L. as he isn’t the account holder. I’ve held several cell accounts in Taiwan. A buka 補卡 (replacement sim) is only available to the person whose name is attached to the account.
Trimming you SIM card down to a Micro-SIM takes less than two minutes. Use another Micro-Sim as a model or google for a stencil. Make sure you don’t cut into the chip and you’re good to go. If you accendently cut into the chip you can still ask your wife to order a new Micro-Sim for you.
Even if you do cut the chip module it’ll probably still work, unless you’re unlucky enough to hit a bond wire. It’s mostly a blob of epoxy, with the chip in the middle. Just be careful to keep it flat while you’re cutting, or the chip module might pop out of the plastic card. Again, not a big deal as such, but a bit awkward to glue it back in again.

I usually just say ‘I’m his wife’ and I get immediate access to all his personal information and finances. Slightly worrying, actually. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were less happy to do that for foreign husbands though, because you guys are ‘scary’ and your poor wives need protecting, of course.
OP, I 23rd the advice to ‘just cut it yourself’. Scissors and a stencil and you’re sweet. Actually, you can ask the Taiwan Mobile places for a stencil to cut the card, now I think about it (dunno if Sensao has it)
I have a sim card cutter that basically automatically trims the card down to size (like a hole puncher). I am really close to the Linguang MRT on Wenhu if you want to meet. It will take 2 seconds.
Basically the chip portion remains intact and the extra plastic gets trimmed to size. I used it when my 女朋友 got her 4s.
