Anyone know where I can get one?
In Taipei, Hankou (漢口) Street Sec 1, close to Zhonghua Road has a few shops with brand name region free players. and also the first lane south of Bade road, just off Xinsheng Road has some cheaper ones.
If you buy one at Dai-I-Chi, a Japanese outlet, which I think is now called Best, you can ask them to ‘de-region’ it for you, which is done with secret coding on the unit’s own remote control. The guy did it for me, or I wouldn’t have bought it. You can use that leverage, I’m sure they’ll sort you out too!

Seems to me that you just have to ask wherever they sell DVD players.
