I use Windscribe VPN U.K. tv and works fine.
They do a free limited plugin for some browsers, probably not enough data bandwidth for World Cup.

I downloaded the hami video app on my iPad. I can watch the game without paying anything. I just cast it to my tv. The commentary is the Chinese one. Annoyingly, I can hear the English commentary in the background too.

Change to broadcast 2 and it’s the bbc(maybe Sky) commentary
For once I’m glad I’ve got MOD which I only use for watching Netflix normally. Chinese commentary but better than the last world cup when cable TV inexplicably didn’t televise all the group games.
Using NordVPN connected to Austrailia server. Watching WC on sbs.com.au on demand live. Works fine.
