Just was wondering about how the Bush teamed failed spectacularly in their election ploy to capture Osama right before the election. Remember? It was supposed to happen right before the election so many lefties told me. Can I get my money back? That was a guarantee wasn’t it?
Well…John F’kn Kerry had a plan for this.
How naive you are, Fred. Clearly this just means that they are “saving him” for the next election.
It was a win-win suggestion - it was said it wouldn’t be a surprise if they magically caught him, which would make them evil and manipulative. But by not catching him yet, it makes them worthless and incompetent. We win both ways!
True enough. I guess the ultimate scenario would be for the Bush admin to catch him 2 days before the election, and then to exhibit incompetence by having him escape US custody 24 hours later…
What’s more disturbing is that they haven’t caught him and they don’t even know what the leader of the Talihban looks like. Give me a break!
One of the October Surprise pages was defaced by hackers. Another has had no change since early October.
Our “October surprise” contest asked participants to predict what dirty trick the Cheney-Bush administration would pull to “win” re-election. And the winner is Tennille Merkle, who wrote months ago:
“I predict! Ohio will be this year’s Florida. Late night November 2, News puppets will announce that Bush won Ohio by a substantial majority, leading Ohio residents and DNC bean-counters to cry foul. Protests will spring up in major Ohio cities demanding a vote recount, only to be told by Diebold that the individual votes are either uncountable or mysteriously lost. The Supreme Court (either state or federal) will refuse to allow Buckeyes to vote again. Bush will win the election again, thanks to Ohio’s electoral votes. Lastly, I’ll be thinking very hard about moving to Canada.”
Really I think the big surprise in October was the Bin Laden video that was released just before the election. Threat of another Bin Laden strike would definitely tip the odds in Bush’s favor according to the polls.
However, would it be fair to claim (as Eminem does in a new music video) that Bin Laden is on a soundstage somewhere in the US and that neo-cons choreograph his jihad-moves?
So to capture Osama is to tip the balance in favor of the neocons but so is not capturing him? Gotcha. :help:
Just thinking: If Osama gets captured, his followers would be thinking of him as a martyr and go on the warpath. Look what happened in Spain. The terrorists attacked and the pro-US party was ousted. People are already naming their babies after Osama. What would they do if there was a chance to avenge his capture or death?
When we capture him, I will let you know. I believe that his days are numbered. With the right pressure on Iran, we would have 500 more of the top leadership. Why Iran won’t hand them over is something that should be debated publicly a lot more. Why is Iran hosting 500 al Qaeda that fled from Afghanistan? Where are they and why isn’t the world community demanding that these murderers be brought to justice? Hmmm?
Where is the proof Fred that Iran is doing what you suggest, and please dont ask us to rely on US intelliegence, that would insult our own intelligence after the aftermath of the WMD fiasco in the run up to Iraq.
I’m still waiting to hear Kerry’s “secret” plan.
The world community did not rely on US intelligence. Every nation including your UK with its famously “sexed up” report which turned out not to have been “sexed up” after all believed that he had them. Let’s face it. Even the nations that did not support the war believed that he had them so do not credit US intelligence alone.
Full of piss and vinegar today Traveller? Must be quite a hangover you are nursing? haha Anyway, feel free to kick the dog on the forum today. We will be tolerant.
Oh sorry Traveller:
How’s this… This is one of the earlier reports. Numbers were raised later.

Osama has enough support in Afghanistan to be holed up somewhere near a border. However, he could be in Iran. Osama despises Shi’ites, but the gov’t, especially locally, is probably corrupt enough to be bought off. I remember for awhile he only did videos in caves or with a screen b/c he was worried US intelligence could identify the region by its landscape or geology. The best solution is for the gov’t to fund fake Osamas to announce things like that penguins are infidels, McDonald’s shouldn’t raise the price of French fries, Liza Minelli is the true Great Satan, etc. That way his pathetic followers would get confused, and rich ‘wannabe rebel’ Saudis would stop funding him. Though it’d be great, does anyone really think Osama will be captured alive? I hope when he’s taken an apple gets stuffed in his mouth and he’s used as a float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade.

I once again am pleasantly surprised to agree with you completely about his location and the reasons why he would be able to survive there. I also find your suggestions for what to do about it very humorous!

Yeah of course there will be peace if OBL is captured. And of course the US will pull out of their new outposts and let local people in those countries benefit from what is theirs.
back to reality
This documentary by the bbc will have fred smith calling the bbc all sorts of names no doubt.

We should just replace our intelligence services with Traveller and BroonAle. That way, there would be no suicide bombers in Iraq, since “bombs are explosive devices dropped from aircraft.”
European:
You do realize of course that Orwell was primarily talking about the communists when he wrote his satires? He was also very criticial of the peace brigade back in the lead up during WWII. You do get that part don’t you? don’t you?
As to this site, well whatever. The BBC is also responsible for Little Britain and other amusing shows. Let them have whatever fun they would like. The amazing thing to me is that so many Europeans are so brainwashed by their ONE and ONLY news source that they are ironically even worse than the Americans which are oft criticized for watching their CNN and Fox News.
Today, on the BBC, they had some woman wailing on and on about how the US mislead the world about Iraq’s wmds and about how no one would believe us in Iran. BUT there was no balance. The interviewer just let her ramble on without any challenge such as: Why did every other nation and their intelligence services believe that Saddam had wmds INCLUDING the French if the US was the one to mislead everyone? Why is it that the yellowcake claim (Niger) came not from the US but from the UK and why has not the UK govt also backed down on its claim? The US had to since the British intelligence cannot by treaty pass on third-country intelligence.
Finally, does anyone on this forum REALLY believe that Saddam was no threat? I just got back from Dubai and Bahrain and they certainly are happy to see him gone. You will find not ill will against Bush in the Gulf States. You may in Jordan and Syria and Egypt but then they had the Gulf States mroe than anyone. Bit of jealousy about all that oil money which they believe should be “shared” among all Arabs. You get the drill.
