Rep. Goode, R-VA, wants Muslims out of office and the US

ell you what, rather than dwell on this ridiculous topic–the founding fathers wisely omitted any manner of conscience test, and bob could swear the oath on a Mad magazine if he so wished, so what’s the big deal?
Agreed. I think US Congressmen should all simply swear in on the US Constitution.

Not an assumption Jaboney. It is my personal conclusion after reading it. Did you see the multitude of quotes I put up from the second surah? Want to see several dozen more from the next few surahs? There are hundreds of such verses through the Qur’an; The vilification of unbelievers is a persistent theme in the Qur’an, not isolated to one or two passages. And the inconvenient fact is, most Americans are unbelievers from an Islamic point of view. Do you really think it is appropriate for a US Congressman to swear in on such a book?
why don’t you turn your critical eye to a much neglected thread I started? It’s an information piece, offering up an argument on the nature of the problems within Islam that have so dramatically spilled over into so many other spheres.

It’s not my argument, and I’m not wedded to it, but I find much of it compelling. I would much appreciate well-founded, carefully considered criticisms of the argument. (After all, such would make me wiser, and how could I not want that?)

Here’s that thread:
I’ll take a look at it.
