Republicans Criticize Bush 'Mistakes' on Iraq

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Leading members of President Bush’s Republican Party on Sunday criticized mistakes and “incompetence” in his Iraq policy and called for an urgent ground offensive to retake insurgent sanctuaries. “The fact is, we’re in deep trouble in Iraq …” Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska… “We made serious mistakes,” said Sen. John McCain. … olicy_dc_3

Well, it is good to finally see some Republicans come out and say what everyone already knows: Iraq was a horrible mistake and Bush went into this without the slightest idea of what he was getting the USA into and he had no idea how to get out again. He simply miscalculated the cost of this war, in terms of human lives and money.

It’s a political stratagem. They don’t want people tuning in to the debate and changing their minds on how they’ll vote. This should be considered a Republican Party tactic.

Now that the debates are over, it’ll be interesting to see whether the candidates for local elections and for House and Senate slots will start distancing themselves from Bush and his failed policies.

“Yes, Bush Can” now says "no, Bush can

Can you say “Hook, Line and Sinker”?

:bravo:  :bravo:

Bush’s own cousins are urging people to vote for Kerry. The Republican Party is in trouble if you consider the number of folks who used to be rank-and-file Republicans who now talk openly about planning to vote for Kerry and/or their lack of enthusiasm for Bush.

They are distant cousins and not even GOP.

~ahem~ Second cousins. Big deal. :snore:

Second cousins don’t have to be distant (we all get along in my family), and you think he could at least count on them not to vocally support Kerry in an election year.

It would appear that Bush’s own family is a microcosm of the larger, polarized nation.

Seems like your family might get along a little too well…
