I am leaving Taiwan at Christmas and am having a dilemma over when to resign.
I understand from Tealit that I am obliged to give 10 days notice (my contract did not stipulate a notice period), however, I feel this is a bit mean given that the school has been pretty good !
I am a bit concerned that if I give more notice, they could stop giving me hours, or even worse, cancel my ARC too early. Is it correct that I only then have 7 days to leave the country ?
Perhaps I could resign verbally first (to give them a head start in the recruiting process) and only give them written confirmation 10 days before my last shift ?
I guess I should ask for my final salary payment to be made in cash, as I will not be in the country to access my bank account ?
I’d be grateful for any words of wisdom.
