Restaurant automation

Good example. Sushi making robot, delivered by belt, pay by NFC credit card. Still needs people to refill ingredients iirc.

Purpose of automation is not to necessarily remove all people. As mentioned by other posters, there will always be a need for 1 or 2. But that is the point. Why do you need 10, when 1 or 2 are fine?

Would you still tip the robot for good service?

A lot of automation makes customers into basically unpaid laborers. Like airport check ins

Which is why business class or first class is the way to go.

There will still be restaurants with lots of human workers. You will go there for the atmosphere and the good service. The low end will get automated.

BINGO – for airlines, restaurants, etc., it makes sense. You pay for the extra human service.
