Restaurant Finder Startup - Need your viewpoint!

I’m currently at the Taipei Startup Weekend. The project we came up with was a restaurant finder app (web and mobile).

Have you ever wanted to eat a particular dish, but didn’t know what restaurant served it? That’s where our app comes in - you select what you want to eat, and we’ll tell you which restaurants around you serve that dish.

The app would be free for all users - we would eventually charge restaurants for premium placement of results.

If this is an app that you think YOU would use, then PLEASE help us by doing the following:

  1. Fill out a survey about eating out in Taiwan here.

  2. Like us on Facebook to show us your interest in this app when it’s available. This is important for the judges who are evaluating our app to see. :slight_smile:

I was thinking about a similar idea some time ago… but at least in Chinese there apparently already are tons of such apps at least for the iPhone. They just take your position, you tell them what kind of cuisine you want, and they show you the nearest restaurants. Complete with users adding reviews and photos. I can get some names if it’s helpful for you…

I have been thinking about the exact same project! But yes I am assuming there are already heaps of apps that do this but they are in chinese so I cant find them! :frowning:
