No telling WHAT all kind a crap gets thrown down those wells.
Yeah… like plasticizer. Want a fruit drink?
Sure. You buying? Prefer a beer, myself. But whatevs.
Mmmmm . . . cloudylicious! :lick:
You’d think someone would have spotted this issue before going and BUILDING the thing, but being the south of Taiwan, I guess “proactive” is a profanity. And how do you regulate creepy, self-dug wells designed to hide all kinds of things. People are worried about nuclear reactors, but I bet whatever is down those wells makes three-eyed fish look like a blessing. Is this the same water table from which we get our drinking water?
You mean they’re proactive in Taipei?
Hell no, but there seems to be a bit more common sense there than in the south, at least from what I’ve seen. It’s like kids holding lit firecrackers out in their hands as opposed to putting them up next to their faces…

Hahaahah! What an analogy of common sense! You’re right, though. It an be appropriate here!
Yes, I do remember hearing talk, years ago, about some parts of the HSR being built on land that everyone knew was sinking, engineers advising against it, and trying to figure out ways to fix the problem. I never heard how the problem was fixed though. Guess it was just prayed over or something.
