Rush Limbaugh arrested today on drug charges - too bad

I have no idea who this guy is but I’m going to find out. In the meantime, what a big fat snot-jobbling junkie lying pinko-fascist!

(Will that do?)

Rush on Drugs:
Limbaugh on Drugs
People like Limbaugh should go to jail, says Limbaugh

There’s nothing good about drug use. We know it. It destroys individuals. It destroys families. Drug use destroys societies. Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods, which become consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up.

What this says to me is that too many whites are getting away with drug use. Too many whites are getting away with drug sales. Too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we’re not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too.

…We are becoming too tolerant as a society, folks, especially of crime, in too many parts of the country… This country certainly appears to be tolerant, forgive and forget. I mean, you know as well as I do, you go out and commit the worst murder in the world and you just say you’re sorry, people go, “Oh, OK. A little contrition.”… People say, “I feel better. He said he’s sorry for it.” We’re becoming too tolerant, folks.
“Except when it’s me.”

So of the two leading conservative talk-show hosts, one has pled guilty to sexual harassment, and the other to drug offenses.

MikeN,

He certainly does seem to be a big hypocrite.

I bet he regrets making those particular statements. Or, maybe he has rationalized some “difference” in his own abuse of drugs? :s

Yeah what is it with these guys, or more importantly their audience?

Australia’s leading right wing shock jocks are also guilty of offences that should, you;d think, alienate them from their audience.

Alan Jones was previously the Australian rugby team coach. He was busted during a rugby tour of the UK masturbating suggestively in front of a ploceman in a tube statuion toilet, well-known as a gay beat.

Here’s Alan outing himself. No photoshop job this.

Then there’s the “golden tonsils”, John Laws:

Laws is is also well-known for his awful rendition of trucking songs.

When your tone is this shrill, you discourage thoughtful responses. Tone it down if you want to be taken seriously. I’m no fan of Rush Limbaugh either, by the way,
I would say Chaon’s tone is quite shrill as well.

Yeah, that’s being discussed.

My post was a satire on the content of most I.P. threads, combined with Maoman’s original post. Advising one poster that his tone is too shrill here is like standing in the middle of an inferno with a squirt gun.

In any rate, I apologize for both not being funny and for giving anyone the impression that I might ever use “LOL” or “ROFL” in a substantive post.

Well, I do expect moderators such as yourself to be slightly more erudite, especially if you are criticizing users for doing the exact same thing.

Exactly. It would be ridiculous to malign the members of any given political party in that way. Now if you were talking about Dallas Cowboy fans, I’m sure we can all agree that “TEH SUCK” would be entirely appropriate.

Reminds me of when Stockwell Day tried to show how macho he was by zipping into a press conference on a jet ski. That shot of him leaving, with a cascade of water appearing to spray out of his ass, was a classic, too.

I agree. Stock was forgetting that the eastern establishment media were waiting to make an ass out of him – that they would salivate at the chance to make him look like an uncouth Albertan. Unfortunately, he gave them a chance in Penticton.

Of course, they weren’t nearly as mean to Martin when he appeared on stage looking like a complete idiot.

Uncouth Albertan? Nice try. He made himself look like a poseur, a showboater and a yuppie.

Whatever Martin is doing in that pic he is not seeking his own aggrandizement I would say.

I disagree. I think it demonstrated Stock’s political inexperience. He was screwed over by the Eastern media. The possibilities for watersports imagery are endless. As the article suggests, "it

By the bye, that pic of Jones in front of the Country party banner reminds me of Gough Whitlam’s brilliant retort. A member from the bush was waxing on about services to his constituency before finishing grandly, addressing himself to the speaker: “Because in the end, sir, I’m a country member” (member of the country party). “We remember,” Gough responded urbanely.

This update from good ol’ Chuck Shepherd:

I’d like to see them swap these two sentences. :smiling_imp:

Methinks you’re not motivated by actual concern for Mr. Paey.

Mr. Paey’s sentence was much too harsh in light of his condition, but his case is not noteworthy in the grand scheme of things. My loathing for Rush Limbaugh was of course my motivation for posting this. No brainer, dude.

Note to moderators: maybe make this a sticky thread.

You gotta be on drugs to believe that conservative agenda…

Why don’t they just ship Bimbaugh off to Guantanamo to dry out,
maybe he can play Maytag for those lonely prisoners while he’s at it.
Limbaugh Detained At Airport For Drugs
Limbaugh Has Not Been Charged In This Case Yet
He Could Face A Misdemeanor Charge

(CBS4 News) WEST PALM BEACH Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh was detained at Palm Beach International Airport for the possible possession of illegal prescription drugs Monday evening.

Limbaugh was returning on a flight from the Dominican Republic when customs officials found a Viagra prescription that did not bear his name. Instead, the bottle of pills had the names of two doctors on it according to the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents examined the 55-year-old’s luggage after his private plane landed at the airport from the Dominican Republic. The matter was then turned over to the Sheriff’s Office. Investigators seized the drugs - used to treat erectile dysfunction - from Limbaugh.

Limbaugh was detained for about three hours and was let go after cooperating with officials. He could be facing a second-degree misdemeanor violation if the State Attorney’s office presses charges.

Limbaugh entered a plea deal back in April in a previous case where his charge of fraud to conceal information to obtain prescriptions was dropped under the condition he continue undergoing treatment for addiction.

Limbaugh had admitted to being addicted to pain killers on his radio program and had entered a rehabilitation program prior to that arrest.
He should actually be charged with violating his probabation, but maybe he didn’t even get probation for that last load of drugs they caught him with.

And folks… is anyone surprised… erectile dysfunction…

All charges were dropped. No laws broken.

Another media “BigFoot” sighting.
