Kursk has been recaptured by Russia. Abandoned by Ukraine. Zelly’s lost a few bargaining chips. There’s a shitload of iron ore in Kursk.
Standard mini tyrant behavior

YOu’re jumping the gun there IMO. “Taking back land” implies they’re still fighting it out, not that it has been recaptured in whole as "Kursk has been recaptured: suggests.
It’s true that Zelly hasn’t officially conceded the entirety of Kursk as of today but he’s not particularly chirpy about the sitiatiuon. "Ukraine military commander-in-chief Gen Oleksandr Syrsky indicated that some forces in Kursk were pulling back to “more favorable positions" so maybe not a full retreat yet?
Plenty of others, apart from Russia, agree that he’s lost it:
Kursk Oblast latest war map:
It’s not a corn or cow field. It’s like 400k people, a big city twice the size of Buffalo NY.
He owns plenty and wears them when visiting White House.
Zelbo used to wear a suit. Then, when on world begging tours, was advised by his PR team to change the performance art:
“I’m not a politician,” … “I’m just an ordinary person who has come to break the system.”
Sounds just like Dump!
So Putin Trump is flattering Donald, and then says But, listing his unfulfillable demands. That was kind of expected, wasn’t it?
I think you mean, “Trump is flattering Putin, and then Putin says, 'But,…”
If that’s what you meant, then for sure it is to be expected. Putin is still Putin after all.
Vlad is just dragging his feet, trying to buy time, maybe has no intention to sign any ceasefire deal at all, trying to drive a hard bargain, etc. He doesn’t seem to give a fook aboot much except his own interests, just like the rest of the bunch.
It’s all about carving up that part of the world for profit and handing it to their banker friends while driving the residents into debt slavery. Whomever comes out “on top” doesn’t really matter, as that will be the only actual result - the most corrupt country in Europe still in the hands of the elites and the masses exploited. It’s simply about which multinationals will control the minerals, etc.
It’s weird how some people are making this topic a ‘Libtard’ / ‘Megaturd’ thing with juvenile name calling. People seem to get caught up in their political affiliations and then either supporting or denying ideas depending on who made them, and without thinking of the actual feasibility of the solution. I think most people discussing here want the war to end. It’s silly to accuse others of wanting to ‘feed the meet grinder’ just because they disagree with a possible solution.
Just who is attacking who and should it not be the attacker who ceases first? Even if there was some kind of mineral deal with Ukraine, why would Russia cease firing? Or is the mineral deal intended to keep Ukraine fighting, and to what end - MAGA?
As much as I hope we all want a solution ASAP, a solution that rewards the invader, enriches them, seems (to me) even worse than the 1938 Munich Agreement, which had the same good intentions of hoping the invader would cease. We already saw how that turned out. Russia, richer, would be even more ravenous. ‘Greatness’ takes time, no peace in our mine (borrowed from PBH).
IDK, maybe the Russian oligarchs just want their yachts back and then they can sail away and skip the next round of stupid.
We may think this how the world should be, according to our own moral compass. But, the real world doesn’t work like this and never did. And that is almost too impossible for many people to accept.
In part, and IMO, the reason for this disconnection from reality stems from too many watching of these types of things.
If there’s one guarantee from all this, it’s that the ones benefiting from this war, on every side, will come out pretty okay in the end
The Ukraine-Russian war is looking good for British warmongers as they expand their military-debt slavery programme:
Britain said on Friday it would increase the overall amount it lends other countries to buy from British defence firms, in an effort to boost exports of missiles and aircraft and bolster its defence industry. The government will increase its credit agency UK Export Finance’s (UKEF) direct lending capacity for defence by £2bn ($2.6bn) to £10bn, the finance ministry said. The boost comes a few weeks after Britain pledged to increase defence spending to 2.5% of GDP by 2027, saying it was necessary in light of global instability and the war in Ukraine.
The war is a blip in the matrix and the rich and power fired the forge that made the matrix. If you follow Jeremy Waldron, entrenched rights actually make democracies less democratic. So, there’s that. I think Freeman’s critique is solid though and allows for thoughtful democratic change, however, give that change in the matrix doesn’t really change the matrix-- so, in effect
Wrong wrong wrong. 1000x wrong.
The modern world has improved immeasurably precisely because of the people who have striven for it over centuries.
I think on a very basic level, Russia wants to go back to, or is already back in, times of dictator rule, while the West might have pushed democracy to a point where it does not seem to work any longer, making dictator rule more appealing to the corrupt and greedy and the easily fooled and less educated. I think it is essential for the West to get back on track and fix what is wrong with democracy to avoid slipping back into what we know didn’t work in the past and was horrible for most people, or to something we haven’t experienced before but is likewise not going to work for most, and that is big-tech oligarchy. My take is that sooner or later any system that works for a while comes to an end eventually. Even constant refinement and improvement will only get you that far.
This war is very much about which systems will prevail in the future. The Russian model is utterly unappealing to me.
It’s unappealing for lots of Russians too but not much they could do about it. It only works because of their vast natural resources, a small country would have a snowballs chance in hell of it working out. I would extrapolate nothing from Russia.
I’m 100% correct. The world has never operated according to your moral compass, and it never will.
By claiming that it has “improved immeasurably,” you’ve only acknowledged my point - that it still does not align with your personal moral standards.
You. Are still utterly wrong , human history proves that advances in human rights have been happening steadily
You don’t even know what my moral compass is what are you even waffling bout.
All you’ve done is changed the goalposts. Now you’re just arguing with yourself and not my original point, which you conceded was correct anyway. I’ll leave you to it.
Indeed, all the more reason to crush this kind of amoral, fascist revanchism.
