RZR problems

The oversize did solve the hard starts for the record. The bike starts first kick even when cold now. We also drained the gas tank and cleaned up the gas valve. The gas was black in there…Bikes smokes less now from that, I’m sure the moisture content was too high in the tank.

I ended up having a popped head gasket…

Had the same problem with the tank, endemic to the species. Pulled the head off, the piston looked suprisingly good so left it as is…Carb also pulled and cleaned out, along with a replacement CDI. Couple grand later I get it back from the local mechanic, who either forgot to tighten or completely forgot some fairly critical bolts so ended up redoing a fair bit of the job myself.

Only problem I’ve got now is gas leading out of the float overflow tube. A good tap with a screwdriver clears up the problem so I’m pretty sure it’s just a stuck float.

Nice to be able to rev to 10,000RPM though, and cold starts are a breeze. :sunglasses:

Actually I’d like to venerate Hsiaodogah as the God of two stroke maintenance on this forum…I humbly bow down before thee my master.

And I gotta add bobepine to that, he’s got my previously shitheap-like RZR running not only like new, but with more power! He da MAN! :sunglasses: :notworthy: Now that it’s running like a dream, just gotta get it looking cool… it’s still full of grime and grease, and sadly needs a new coat of paint… after that, it’ll be a kick-ass little machine… Thanks bobepine! You rock!

I second the motion… :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

My RZ is running great again, and looking pretty good too:

Mixed blessing though, as it leaves me with very little ammo for justifying my new machine… :s
