Sabah Borneo and Filipino conflict, unsafe?

Well fuck we have been planning a trip there for months with my mom who is coming here and now i read about this shit going on. I know my wife and mom will both have my nuts if i drag them into an area with fighting. anyone know much more about it? we were planning on going down the Kinnabatangan river area, but it seems the area of issue is down semporna and am wondering if it could head upwards along that road towards sandakan and that area?

Im pretty sure they aren’t, but anyone know if air asia tickets are refundable? :ponder:

Very disappointed to see that MILF changed its name to MNLF.

if anyone else is going there, it seems pretty safe. just be polite and avoid eye contact going through checkpoints to avoid attention. much easier for white people to get through without being harrassed than brown people…

Good. Hopefully this won’t turn into a WWF/WWE thing and both groups can keep their wonderful acronym. An Islamic militant group seems much more cuddly when their name conjures up thoughts of sexy mothers. Hard to hate on them when I get a semi upon hearing their name, now if only Al Qaeda had such an effect…
