Sorry, can’t answer your question, but on the same note: I’ve read somewhere the other day that the SA entertainment industry union criticized film makers for using ‘foreigners’ to play the part of South Africans when there ‘are so much local talent’ available. It was linked to a film about Winnie Mandela where the lead role was given to an American actress.
I’m not convinced the saffie accent’s so hard, well the main one. Some of those bleks have some tricky accents, mind you, all that clucking and so on.
