Saints & Sinners

This place sucks big time. If it weren’t for the overflow of people from Carnegie’s, this place would be floundering like so many other bars in Taipei. Just over a year ago, I ordered a sandwich that was so bad that I had to send it back. The staff were unimpressed with my rejection of the sandwich, and after some heated argument, I was asked never to return.

Damn! I must be losing my touch. No one told me to get out and never come back.

i say bring back donabella!

An organization I am with is planning to have a Christmas party here, but after reading 3 pages of entirely negative comments, I’m thinking it could be colossal mistake. They have promised a “Christmas, western style” dinner. It’s going to be a fairly large party (at least 50) and I’d hate to see the whole thing screwed up, especially when I can see all the warning signs in this thread.

Has anyone been here recently, and is there anything good to be said about the place? And while certain members will certainly enjoy the flirty Filipinos, they don’t count.

I have been going to Saints and Sinners with a few friends every week since I came back to Taipei.
I have nothing but good things to say about it.The staff have allways been very profesional and the food good. I would certainly go ahead with your party.

Why would anyone book Saints and Sinners for Christmas dinner? Just wondering… I mean there are so many (er?) alternatives which are known quantities.

I’m not sure why we booked with them.
I believe they are a “sponsor” of sorts of our group.
I think their price for us (650nt) was cheaper than the other places we checked.
Price doesn’t really matter though if they are as crappy as the 3 pages of comments suggest.
I’m not taking the weight of the one positive comment from the guy with a total of 4 posts too seriously either. :s
Oh well…I hope it works out.

I hope so too. At least you have been forewarned that a lot of people (myself included) think the place is crap. You’ll probably be one of the lucky ones and get good service and food.

If they are sponsoring you for tiddlywinks or something it sounds like a pretty good reason to spend some money there.
By the way we were there again last night and not a flipper in sight.

You know, I

Then you’d better hurry up and get some more posts on the boards; check the title under you’re screen name! You’ll be happy to know that the next one is not “average pot bellied baldy you see hanging out at expat bars”.

Hey hey I got nothing against English Teachers that are pro-bathing…or headband wearing. I hope my next title is Zone Mama-San though

Think you’ll have to wait 'til around 2000 for that one.

Saints and Sinners’ food is way overpriced.

Also. The last time I was there (I will never go back) my girlfriend and I ate dinner. I also had a beer. I asked them for a glass of water and they told me that I had to buy water. I said to them that I just wanted a little bit to wash down the spicy food and they said no. :fume:

This meal isn’t looking too promising.

The good thing about S&S is that it’s stumbling distance to Carnegies. Sorry Josefus, that’s about it.

I’ve been walking past there regularly. Good to know I can keep walking.

I have long thought of S&S as some sort of masochism theme bar. How else could somewhere so irredeemably bad stay in business?

josefuss if you was so concerned why are you going?

Becauce many of my friends are.
I’m a lemming.
