Went to the ‘fat pig’ festival (Pig of god) in Sanxia to do some photo shooting, it was cold, it rained but still the pics are quite good … now, guess who showed up in this election year? Yes, Mr. Ma Ying Jou, president hopeful … gathering some support

Is this the thing where they force feed pigs sand and metal (illegal even in Taiwan) and then publicly slaughter them for peoples’ entertainment (also illegal even in Taiwan) ?
I don’t see why anyone would want to validate that by turning up.
I don’t think they feed them iron or sand … wouldn’t make them fat, would it? And no, they don’t slaughter them in public … but, I’m not sure they force feed them, they definitely over feed them, they are all obese and to heavy to walk … and I don’t endorse it, I just report what’s happening … it’s a tradition, maybe a bad one … and Ma, he is just looking for votes … anyways, more pics …

Force feeding them lead would make they heavier, which is the whole point of this cruel exercise. Not the produce the best looked after pig, or the cutest pig, but the one that is heaviest.
It’s claimed but not proven … guess that would be unfair and the pig be disqualified … sand and iron would show up when slaughtered, and it passes through …
