Saving water& power in Taiwan, what can chip makers learn from dry Arizona (USA Chip king)

Interesting video. Intel and TSMC have or will have huge chip fabs in dry Arizona with 20% of rain of Taiwan. End of video goes over water saving the fabs do, Taiwan can learn from it, as Arizona learns from Taiwan about chip making. The Taiwan fabs use huge amounts of water now.

I also hope taiwan takes our water security serious sooner than later…its not really a laughing matter anymore.

I bet it will be like everywhere all the time. Knee jerk reaction to an emergency they knew about for decades and could have easily, painlessly and profitably avoided.

Yes, and look at what dry Arizona has done. BTW it was raining hard in Kao City mountains today, a good sign maybe.

They have done some cool things, but in an overall picture still failing. But it is always a progress, hopefully people care enough to keep striving.towards perfection.

unfortunately people are just slow to change and accept, and we tend to snap decide on short term problems at the expense of long term sustainability.

Because we still think we’re living in the jungle and must compete to survive.

Well hope the rains (parts New Taipei had 150mm last two days) help, its what parts of Arizona get in a year.

The real worry is now people will fall back into complacency as the rain has come and we can all forget about it rather than bust ass now to prepare for next year. I sincerely hope/wish I am wrong…but if history tells us anyhing, seems we are destined for much of the same in years to come :frowning: certainly any water issues in the future cannot legitimately be blamed on lack of money or knowledge. We do have mkoney to fix it, have time to fix it and already know it needs fixing. Looking forward to the future excuses and backpedaling that will almost surely ensue.
