Some people still believe, and probably even hope, that Iraq had WMDs. If not that then surely Iraq had links to Al Qaeda. I know, it’s impossible to argue with Fox News America.
I’d say myself it’s even painful to just think about it.
Among words synonymous with fox, you’ll of course find deceive, hoodwink, fool, con.
And neo-con. Ha-ha.
Well, even the New York Times felt it had to apologise for having been so uncritical at the time. Ouch!
Painful all this, I say, but at least you guys have a free press.

U.S. Flies Radioactive Items Out of Iraq
[quote]WASHINGTON July 6, 2004
What is new about this thread?
I don’t know Juba. Perhaps, it is new in that it was started by someone that has little to no recognizable intelligence?
On hearing that George WMD was finally Florida elected, I actually whispered to myself, and myself alone, God, this guy looks like he’s going to put his foot in it.
It’s hard to acknowledge, but sometimes, you need some nutcase to do things for you.
The latest, I hear, is that the CIA had goofed.
Ah, well, perfectly believable, isn’t it? They already had with 9/11. They have the right credentials now.
In the case of WMDs, maybe it wasn’t even a mistake. Maybe there’s something deep in the CIA brain that’s geared towards regime change. Don’t you worry Love, there’s only a limited number of countries concerned, like, you know, er– Axis of Evil countries.
Now, the US is not on that list but be very careful here. He who has goofed will goof again.

Besides lying about the reality of the WMD threat, the Bush administration has been creative and successfully demonstrated a few noteworthy verities.
We sure know now that a small group of determined activists can get into the White House and mess things up.
It has also become clear that a small political faction can set up and somehow get elected some scale-one strawman dummy who stares blankly at people and speaks from the depth of his own chiffon heart.
And unfortunately, we had to realise that a large majority of the US people, of the US media, of the US people-elected representatives can be fed a long swig of gobbledegook based on flawed CIA intelligence.
We now know that all these people can actually agree on sending until then perfectly innocent US troops to kill and get killed in order to regime-change a foreign country without the backing of the United Nation.
Uh UN? Oh, that’s OK then. Well, not really since a majority of the US people actually disagreed with Bush about not having the backing of the UN. Still, could we care less, really?
Finally, we also discovered how too clever by half ideologues can break new grounds in exploring the murky area between torture and various internationally agreed treaties on human rights and the treatment of prisoners.
Hey, that’s a new use for the phrase creative accountability.
