Schooling question

we’re relocating and are facing a difficult choice.

option 1

take kids out of school and finish their year as “home schooling”

option 2

let the kids finish their year,a relative will take care of them

i must point out a few details
-it’s not taiwan school system
-school year ends in may
-kids are under 7,so home schooling “should” be easy
-it’s apparently not possible to change school mid-year,hence the dilema…

if any of you has been thru the same situation, please provide some hindsight on the pluses and minuses.

(mum is keen on option 2,dad wants option 1) :help:

En route to Mexico in 5th grade I was dropped into the last 3 months of a Spring term there, and the school allowed it. I adjusted just fine. En route back to the US five years later we elected to have me stay and finish the last 2 months of my term in Mexico, staying with my best friend’s family, then I flew back to the US on my own to join my family. That worked out just fine too, but I was 15 and was all too happy to be free from my parents’ ultraconservative yoke for a little while.

For younger kids, the important thing is that they have good loving care and that they don’t feel abandoned.

that’s why i’m not keen for them to be left with relatives(altough they are used to be going back and forth since they are born)

i was pretty surprised that my GF doesn’t mind leaving her kids behind, albeit for the sake of their education :s

in france, the norm is to transfer to a new school,it’s sometime hard for the kids to adapt, but at least the option is open.

I don’t understand. You’re not in Taichung then?

1st line of my original post…
