Do a search…There are literally dozens of threads covering scooters, performance, costs, makes, hopups, etc…
For a thousand US you should be able to procure yourself a pretty decent 1-3 year old ride, or nearly new if you want something in the 50cc range.
Yamaha is the most reliable. Then probably Kymco.
