Anyone seen any scooter self-practice areas in Taoyuan City that have lines painted like the real tests? Only ones I know of like this are the 三鷹 and 山佳 practice lots.
If not, might just use the 20 min drive to teach them situational awareness.
You can visit the Taoyuan Motor Vehicles Office and practice there from 8am to 8:40am and 12 to 1:30pm (Monday to Friday)
機車考照練習時間： 週一到週五8：00-8：40，12：00-13：30(但實際好像有練到13：40）

as said, most the testing centers are open to public practice.
Private property you can practice as well (with permission). dont need a license if not on public land.
