Scooter starter motor died again

Yamaha Scooter wouldn’t start this week, had to change the starter motor, cost 1500NTD. Bit annoyed as I had the same issue last year and had to replace it, that time cost 2000NTD.

I’ve had the scooter 4 years, and it’s had 3 different starter motors. Is it normal for this part to break so often, or it something to do with my driving / maintenance?

Have read about similar issues on Yamaha scooters, where an adjustment of air-in-take valves would do the trick. Although they also say it usually happens on colder days.
