Hi,
My dive club stops diving in October, too cold they say!. Does anyone want to buddy up with me for trips to the north coast?
I’m up for any type of diving as long as I get in the water I’m happy. I have been diving for many decades so don’t worry about inexperience.
I live in Taipei and if you are a member of a club that dives locally all year that would also be a good alternative

I also live in Taipei am interested in some diving up North. I just got back from diving in Kenting last weekend, that trip is too far to go for just a weekend trip. I would also be interested in joining any dive club even if they just go up north during the summer months. Please contact me and we can try to make a plan. I live in Taipei have my own kit and dive whenever I can which includes the so called winter months!
I have dived the north East coast in late November. The main problem is the weather as the waves kick up later in the year. Having said that I am looking to dive the weekend of the 24th Nov.
If you are interested we can share a car I lived in the Betiou Shilin area and would leave anywhere between 6am and 9am depending upon others.
I am an instructor with BSAC, Let me know if you want to play.
if the waves make diving difficult we could always haul further down to Fulong and try to borrow some surf boards.

Stay south of Ma-ao if you want to get into the water this time of year…
Ma-ao?? do you means Sa-uo can you also enlighten me on dive sites in the area I have not often been down that far often so would like information on tank and air supplies along with accessible dive sites.
What kind of sea life do you see around Taiwan? I never even thought to dive here , I always leave the island. What can you expect to see and is the visibility any good ?
Ok to try and answer your questions. Visibility yes you can see ( how far do you want to see?) the murkyist is has been the vis was about two mtrs. Not a problem if you are looking for nudibranchs, max can be up to 20 mtrs. Fish life. lots of nice small things banded anemone fish, lion fish, trumpet fish, frog fish leaf fish, banded shrimps and peacock mantis. sea horses. lots of puffers and box fish, parrot fish, moorish idols and or bannerfish. Many more I have not seen over large species ( hammer heads etc) but certainly enough for a good fun dive if that is what you want.
If you are looking for pristine warm blue waters teeming with exotics then no.
