Searching for Indian or Singaporean Style Sweets (Desserts)

I’ve yet to come across the typical Indian sweets sold at bakeries and sweet shops in the UK and US, and on a recent trip to Singapore, I inhaled their variations which are even more delectable than the Indian sweets known to me heretofore, but in the same general family. I’m referring to the slices of glutinous cake or cold pudding which are typically different combinations of rice flour, sago, coconut, beans, and syrup. The Indian varieties are often referred to as “barfi”, and come in many flavours, including pistachio, carrot and coconut. Any sight of such things in Taipei?? Even if not, top Indian, or hopefully Singaporean restaurant recommendations would be of interest, though the dedicated sweet shops tend to offer what cannot be had in restaurants.

I’ve seen them in Yunnan/Thai restaurants at times, but not recently I don’t think.

One place I’d recommend is the inimitable Mayur Indian Kitchen on Keelung Road (near City Hall, on the surprisingly quiet above-ground stretch between Renai and Songshou Road). I believe they are closed this week for renovations–they seem to be adding some indoor seating–but when they reopen you might check them out.
