Seeing Obama's inauguration speech

Hello everyone, this is my first post here so not sure if this is the place to ask this but… Now that we are on the day of the inauguration, does anyone know if there’s a bar, restaurant, or place which will be broadcasting the speech live?

See it?

Man…you can just feeeeeeeeeeel it!

Yeah, the bar around the corner from the 7-Eleven.

Element23, you forgot to mention a LOCATION, or do you want listings for all of Taiwan?

No location mentioned: assume Taipei.

It’s a damn insult to all the good folk of Chiayi, Tainan and elsewhere, and besides that, Taipei covers a fair amount of territory. It’s a good idea for posters to put in a district.

Neosocs default to arrogance…its the new hip 'tude… :sunglasses:

HBO and CNN will broadcast it so the best choice then is a friend’s living room, lots of beer and tiem pu la for snacks… Purrfect.

At US$170,000,000.00 …What 'recession?..it should be muy mucho spectacular.

Inauguration Perks Go To the Rich

Its for the people…‘Bread and Circus’ you know… :bravo:

The petty bourgeois concern for money is inconsequential to the Great Benefactor
Owners of capital will stimulate the working class to buy more and more of expensive goods, houses and technology, pushing them to take more and more expensive credits, until their debt becomes unbearable. The unpaid debt will lead to bankruptcy of banks, which will have to be nationalised, and the State will have to take the road which will eventually lead to communism.

How come yer blamin’ a terrorist for the Socialisation of AmeriKKKa? It was lil’ pussy that set the country down the road of communism.

Wow…the neocons are becoming increasingly apoplectic as O-hour approaches!

:discodance:

Sorry, but I can’t see what the big fuss is about. He’s a bloke inheriting a nightmare economy, not the bloody Messiah
I wonder who will be the first to criticise the new God once he makes his first balls up and the water does not turn to wine?

The only people calling him a “messiah” are on the right.

But his inauguration signals a deserving end to neocon rule: an end to the damaging PNAC agenda. He’s no god, but he will actually do Good Things. In one day, Obama could do more Good Things than Bush did in his entire eight years. Bush’s presidency has been one dedicated to doing Bad Things (war, torture, economic collapse, restriction of freedoms, restriction of science, building fences to keep brown people out, destroying US moral authority, etc.)

Bush only accomplished three Good Things I can think of in his entire presidency: signing the No-Call List into law and establishing two marine national monuments. (Four good things if you include destroying the Republican Party.)

Obama, on the other hand, in one day, could lift the restrictions on stem cell research, end the abortion gag-order for overseas family planning groups, and end abstinence-only education funding with a stroke of his pen.

Obama’s not perfect. But he has greater potential to do Good Things than any Republican could.

I’m going to wake up early to watch it.

To be honest, The Bush presidency is the only thing I know of… Bush became president when I was in 6th grade, and so it’s a huge deal for me. I don’t know of any presidency apart from his, except for maybe a little of Clinton’s (mostly the sex scandal).

The past 8 years have been a joke, I’m ready for a president that will seriously be professional about his job.

Oh you can laugh, but I tell you my cold is getting better. I think it’s because his Ombamaness is about to take the reigns. I expect to be fighting fit when it becomes official. I also anticipate tomorrow will see a glorious dawn all over the world.

I first started to doubt that he was THE ONE when I heard that his mother-in-law will be living in the White House. I mean, if you were the Chosen One - or even just the most powerful man in the world - would you be living under the same roof as your mother-in-law? No way! “Now, now, young Barry, where you be taking that pretty young intern?”

The entertainment never ceases!

:discodance: Time to PARTAY!

Yeah, the bar around the corner from the 7-Eleven.

Element23, you forgot to mention a LOCATION, or do you want listings for all of Taiwan?
I did mean Taipei, preferably in the Zhongzheng district, or, better yet Yong/Zhonghe, Taipei county. Sorry if I was not clear about this, will keep it in mind in the future. In the end I’ll probably end up watching it on TV or online though… Enjoy the speech, and the new prez!

…around the corner from a 7/11…very apropo…
